Unboxing: CCA Number 4

This box was 100% a FOMO order for me. After getting my least favorite in my first box, and also the most difficult one to trade, I decided to try for one last lotto ticket just in case. I have been worried about a repeat of 2021 where I received three of the Indian Pony and could not trade my extras for any of the other 70th anniversary glossies.

By now, though, I was sort of out of regular line in stock things I definitely wanted to get. My first selection was the 75th Anniversary Western Horse. TBH I'm still not sold on these silhouette cutout patterns, but the 75th is special and the Western Horse is iconic and my favorite of the bunch, so I decided let me go ahead and get this one.

The masking is excellent on this guy and he is definitely unique, and the tack always adds a nice element of bling, so he's probably a keeper.

Next up is Chocolatey. I collect Roxy but I haven't felt compelled to get Chocolatey and I've passed him up a few times on clearance. I have the chestnut appaloosa CC shuffle and in my head I thought they were too similar, even the same mane and tail combination, and I like the Shuffle just a little bit better. But since I was running out of options and he was on sale I decided to throw him in the cart.

I'm so glad I did because this one is REALLY nice. He has gorgeous shading and is nicer in color and masking than the one I had seen on deep discount at TSC last year. I don't feel bad about leaving that one behind and ending up with this one instead! I'm always curious about the VINs on the ones from the warehouse... most of the other RRs I've received in my CCA orders are pretty recent, summer or fall 2024, but this one is Aug 22. They must be getting closer to selling out (he was discontinued last year).

I threw in another Cody's Wish as a last resort.

This one is noticeably darker than the one I received in my previous box. I'm pretty torn on which one I like better... My first reaction was for sure the other one has nicer color and shading, but I really like the dark face on this one and being darker he's also less similar to Brass Hat - so maybe this one. IDK. I'm going to have to sit on that decision for a bit.

It was all worth the last minute FOMO though because I got the glossy POA! My jaw dropped when I opened the box and I can't believe I got a perfect full set in the end! I would have looked to buy this one on the secondary market anyway so it was totally worth it to get these three add on models too, for pretty much the same cost to me.

So now they can all come out of their boxes and join the congas 😊

At least these two... Cossaco might actually be my favorite now, even though he was 3rd on my initial preference list. Isn't he gorgeous?! Spinabbey I'm still a tiny bit on the fence about keeping. I am leaning towards it, especially since I have the full glossy set and a Latigo conga. Atlanta is also 100% a keeper but I've seen some lighter/more shaded bay looking ones and I think I might prefer one like that. I'm going to keep mine in box for now in case I find one I like more at BF. Then I can sell my dark one. If not, she is flawless and gorgeous so I can absolutely keep her instead.

Now I also need to decide if I want to keep the matte versions. I probably will for the POA since he was only made for the year and I love his paint job. Atlanta and Cossaco I'm not so sure though... Cossaco I love the glossy so much more and Atlanta is one of those space hogs that I probably don't need to keep extras around if I can avoid it. The final consideration will just be if I want to, or think they are good enough to, show in RR at Breyerfest Live.
