Friday Updates and More on CCA

Happy Friday!
I spent the past two days immersed and working on some really fun Breyerfest projects so it's tough to get back to the day job today. I can't believe we are just two months out now. It always goes from feeling like forever to being almost here. There was a new sneak peek on the blog yesterday too so I think that means more reveal season is here too. I can't wait to see the prize models and the auction models!
I understand it has been officially released so I can now say I'm judging minis at Breyerfest Live this year! I'm really excited to see the two day format and support the Thursday events. I decided I needed another year off from showing and show prep so I volunteered to judge and I'm really looking forward to it. The company I work for has it's fiscal year end on June 30 and in particular, since I work in sales, it makes May and June extra busy and frantic so it has been harder to get my BF prep in. On the other hand it means in July everyone resets and they don't mind if you take a long vacation - so Breyerfest itself is fully work stress free! Next year I hope to be back to showing myself.
I did manage to get my my CCA orders in (and yes, I ended up doing more than one). I'm most excited for Atlanta but I'm also hoping for the POA for my Nikolas conga. I've been back and forth on how and if I want to collect or conga the Anamar mold but I do like him and I think Cossaco might look lovely in gloss - you never know with the paler or chalkier colors. Spinabbey also has the potential to look really nice in gloss - I have seen some of the matte ones with absolutely stunning shading, but others (like the matte one I got in last year's CCA) are kind of flat. I also just don't really love this mold with the roached mane - but I do otherwise casually conga him so if I got one of the super shaded ones I think I might be compelled to keep him.
It looks like my first box is actually out for delivery today so watch this space! Maybe it will be a two post day! I'm excited to see what I get.
I ordered a bunch of random RRs because despite knowing all year that this was coming I wasn't prepared, ha. It's always a fun lottery ticket and despite paying "full retail price" you're getting the CCA model free - so I usually look at it as a 50/50 split - where the CCA cost $75 and the RRs cost $75(ish) which usually works out to around $25 each. The great thing about them having moved it up to May is that I can immediately take any that I don't want to Breyerfest and sell in the room and easily recoup that $25-$30 cost. The same applies to the glossies - ideally I can trade if I get ones I don't want, but if not even the least popular ones can usually sell for $75 so worst case you're not out anything.
The other secondary bonus is it's also a perfect time to get the large and sturdy boxes that they arrive in! I love to bring my BF sales models in cardboard boxes so after I sell them I can break down any of the extra boxes and save room in the car on the way home. I'll start packing my sales models very soon after these arrive.
